Ask and ye shall recieve

Post by TheCollector »

With the goal of having more people participating in the forums, I'd like to know what you guys (and gals) would like to see here to make the forums more enjoyable.

Since the community is fairly small at the moment each voice carries a lot of weight. Everyone's comments will get serious consideration.... There may be some techincal limits that brush up against, but I'll let you know if something can't be done.

So... If you came across a magic Genie who would grant you any three wishes (only in regards to the forums  ) what would they be?

How about a gallery where people can post photos of their collections or latest pride & joy, both from Stephen King & other authors they collect. I get great enjoyment checking out peoples' collections, drooling over them & wishing I had this or that. :)

Well, it's nice to know that aside from a gallery I'm fulfilling the hopes and dreams of everyone here

I'll look into the feasability of a gallery, the biggest problem I see at this point though, is that my hosting provider caps the database size at 100mb. I'm unsure if I can make a gallery that doesn't eat into the space to much (many people take photos 2-5mb each)

In the mean time, we could start a thread for people to post pics of their books and other items. There's a size limit on photos embedded in the forums so that would work.

Not a suggestion for the forums per se, more so the site itself. BUT.... It'd be cool if there was a page for identifying UK 1st/1sts as well!

Hello :-)

I´m missing the Books OVER Stephen King, like Essential Stephen King, Uncollected Unpublished, Road to Dark Tower... Why are they not in the price list?

Thanks for answer

Hi Norman,

There are two main reasons I don't have books about SK listed on the site.

#1) Hardly anyone has asked for them. If people don't ask about those types of books I assume there's no interest.

#2) Books about SK are typically less collectible and don't rise in value over their publication price... which leads me back to #1.

In regard to identifying 1/1s, I think it would be helpful to have the color of the boards and pastedowns with the descriptions. I see this has come up a few times, most recently in the Rose Madder thread, and think its good information to have. I suppose it would also depend on whether ALL 1/1s of each book do have these qualities in common. I would guess that they do but....

Could we possibly have a spell checker for the forum postings?. It would come in handy.
