That's cool the bullets seem to be placed at random. Rabbit Trick is the two book photo on the DT site or are they yours? The link wouldn't open.

I think adding a lettered edition to this site would be a natural.

The photos belong to the site. The prototype lettered Regulators belong to a collector called carlosdetweiller.

That's 113 US proofs. I also have 45 UK proofs and lots of other King-related proofs. My oldest proof is the US Carrie ARC. Next are the US Dead Zone and Firestarter. My oldest UK proof is the UK Dead Zone.

To see my proof collection, see:

I did not get the CD ARCs from a CD Grab Bag.

John I just looked over your DT link. That is a very impressive collection.....very nice....I am speechless.

I know very little about ARCs, I have six, either SK or Joe Hill.

How many are made per book, do you know if that varies? Have you seen any get major changes before the book goes to print?

Maybe if you don't mind tell me about Carrie. How many copies were made? What would it fetch? As a rule are they worth the same/more/less then a 1st printing?

In most cases, the publishers are very secretive about how many ARCs are done. They said 10,000 copies of the Rose Madder book were produced. Some of the UK proofs have been issued in numbered form by Hodder & Stoughton, but otherwise, who knows? You also have to remember that a number of proofs are actually used by the reviewers. These are often in less-than-collectible condition, and even discarded.

As for the Doubleday Carrie ARC, I've heard estimates range from 1,000 to 5,000 copies being done, but, again, who knows? The value depends GREATLY on condition. I wouldn't pay more than $1000 for a NF copy.

Usually, what you see in the ARC is what is printed in the first printing of the book. Occasionally a mistake will be fixed before the official printing is done.

Thanks John, in both cases that is about 10 times the number of ARCs I would have guessed. Any more copies and don't bother printing the book LOL.
