What's with all tht signed baseballs?

Post by surly »

At any given time, there's at least a dozen baseballs on ebay being sold as "signed by Stephen King".

I'm assuming that most (all) of these are junk, but where do you think the idea comes from? Does Mr. King sign baseballs when he goes to games? Even if they were real, would you want a signed ball?

Just curious.

King has been known to sign baseballs occasionally while at a game. I'm sure 99.9999% of those offered on eBay are fakes, though. Unless I was the recipient of one of those in person, I'd never consider one. (For one, the signature is often too cramped for a good appearance, and two, the provenance of such an item, even if you were present at the signing, is always doubtful.)
