Hey folks,

I was trolling thru the latest CD newsletter and at the bottom I read:

-------------------------
...Finally, we can't say more right now, but we have a huge surprise announcement coming in the next month or so, and we don't expect the signed editions to last more than a few hours. Make sure you stay tuned to our Cemetery Dance Insider mailing list for details! In addition, we will be notifying the customers who preordered The Secretary of Dreams (Volume Two) about this news first, as our way of saying thanks for your continuing support! That's why it's especially important that you keep our office notified when your email or mailing address changes -- see the next section for more information about that!
------------------------

Well, I get the newsletters on a regular basis, but I havn't pre-ordered SODv2 yet... so if anyone gets early news of a new S/L Stephen King book, would you kindly post it here, and PM me, so I can get a newsletter out to everyone ASAP?

....Assuming that I'm reading their thinly veiled comments correctly ;)

I've ordered Secretary of Dreams II, so I'll post as soon as I hear something.

I think this is it..Thanks to Stephen G for the heads up!

Hi there!

You're receiving this email because you ordered The Secretary of Dreams (Volume Two) through our online store, and as our way of saying thanks for your support we wanted to send you advanced notice of a new book we're announcing today entitled The Big Book of Necon.

In addition to contributions by over 50 of the biggest names in the genre (Straub, Gaiman, Ketchum, Hautala, Tessier, Williamson, Clegg, Keene, Campbell, Winter, Monteleone, Wilson, Lebbon, etc), this once-in-a lifetime anthology will also feature the first publicly available appearance of "The Old Dude's Ticker" by Stephen King (and Edgar Allan Poe).

This rare collaboration was previously only published in a Necon program nearly a decade ago, and that book was limited to 333 copies and often sells for $250 to $500 on the second-hand market.

TWO of our editions of The Big Book of Necon WILL BE signed by Stephen King, but those copies will not last the hour, so if you want one, you need to go to this link and place your order ASAP:

http://www.cemeterydance.com/page/CDP/PROD/booth01

(Sorry, no certificates, coupons, or credit can be used for the signed editions.)

If you're not interested in signed or deluxe editions, we will also be publishing a very nice trade edition bound in cloth.

The Big Book of Necon is going to be one of the most talked about anthologies of the year, and we think readers and collectors alike will be very pleased with table of contents.

Thanks again for your continuing and enthusiastic support!

I've decided not to pre-order the deluxe version with King's signature in it. At $350, and given Cemetary Dance's proclivity for delayed publication, I just don't want to give them that much money for a book that probably won't be out for a couple years. I think I'll just get one on the aftermarket after it's finally publshed. The more recent CD King s/l editions haven't appreciated THAT much, so I think I'll be able to get one at close to the initial price. Or it's even possible that the book won't even sell out--their (okay, it wasn't theirs, but...) anniversary edition of Dark Forces was still available after it was published, and there were only 200 copies of it published. The only reason I pre-ordered SOD II was so that I could reserve my number to match my copy of SOD I. I have number 359, so, with only 150 copies of the Necon book published, I don't have to worry about that.

Agree 100%. I made the decision not to pre-order this new release from CD today. I'm already in the hole $1,500 with Secretary of Dreams vol. 1 Lettered, and my attempts in the past week to get a refund are not proving worthy. I called them last Thursday leaving a detailed message asking for a refund. No answer. I called again today, left another voice mail and also an email, restating what I stated last week. We shall see.
I don't see how they can hold people's money for over 3 years and not deliver on the product.

As with John, I will buy one for my own personal collection in the open market, perhaps in 2015...

Also, at $350 and $1,000 for the signed limited editions, they have already priced in a good appreciation.

I decided to skip out on this one. We just bought a new house and we're moving in a couple of weeks, so I let this go. Plus, while this seems like an interesting book, I'll probably just go for the trade edition on this one to read the stories. And I'm still eying a couple of SK's older S/L's that need to be added to the collection.

I got another one of their updates today - about SODII - which is great if true. Generally, I just kind of scan and delete. So, I was wondering if anyone knew anything about Big Book of Necon. I did order the limited and haven't seen anything about it. I know the trade is out but didn't order that one. Thanks.

Going by Cemetery Dance's past record, it will not be out until 2019. They will use your money to publish dozens of books before Big Book of Necon.

According to an email I got from CD, a library system accidentally double-ordered the second edition and returned one of those orders (about 100 books).
