CD Stephen King Grab Bags

Just got the e-mail that CD has SK grab bags for sale at the moment. I was wondering if anyone has ordered these in the past and if they were pleased with their purchase? I just ordered my first one, and with shipping it was close to $140 (I'm in Canada), so I'm hoping to get some neat items out of the deal. Bought it on a whim and now I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Anyways, just curious what your past experiences have been with CD grab bags.

I'm sitting here with my credit card wondering if its worth it and hoping someone posts something somewhere that gives an opinion based on their past experience.
Not sure?

Somehow the email didn't get to me. I'll have to dig thru the spam folder.

I've seen CD grab bags before, although not necessarily King based. They usualy seem like a good value vs paying for each item at full retail. However, if you're like me and have a ton of King stuff already you run the chance of getting duplicates of items you already have.

Can someone post the link and i'll look at what the offer is?

Thanks John, found the thing in my spam filter this morning - came from a different email than CD's usual announcements.

Anyway, so here's the details

==================================
Each Grab Bag includes:
* One copy of the summer issue of Tin House featuring Stephen King's new short story (retail price $12.95)
If you don't have one this would probably run you $10-ish to get somewhere else, so that's about right.

* One hardcover book by Stephen King that was published by Scribner (retail price $25 to $35)
Well, you'll have to ask yourself if you have most King titles already. If you're on this forum my guess is that you do. Notice that they're not promising a 1st edition, so ask yourself if you need an extra HB reading copy of FDNS, UTD, or some other random title

* One paperback book by Stephen King that was published by Pocket Books (retail price $9.99)
Sort of same issue as above

* TWO Stephen King movies on DVD (combined retail price of $20 to $30)
If I knew I was getting The Stand or IT that would be sort of neat. More than likely it's The Langoleers or someting similar. Personally I tend to netflix most movies these days

* A trade paperback anthology featuring a Stephen King novella that has not appeared in one of his collections (retail value $15)
Trade paperback, that features King as one of the stories, the others by other authors.

* An oversized hardcover special edition featuring a Stephen King short story and other special features (retail value $75)
Likely a CD gift edition of some sort. I can't think off the top of my head what recent anthology is out there that has King as one of the contributors, if you can that's likely the title you'll get.

Special Bonus: FREE $50 Cemetery Dance Coupon In Every Grab Bag!
Remember, you normally can't use CD coupons for King titles. So if you have the coupon you'll need to use it for a different author, or their magazine, etc.
================================

Personally, it would likely duplicate most things & the fact I likely won't redeem the coupon means I'd pass. But if you're a new collector that doesn't have much King material or are interested in other CD authors it does represent a decent value.

Hope that helps!
