While hitchhiking on a snowy winter's night in Maine, a college dropout meets and falls in love with a girl he’d do absolutely anything for. Morrison is going to quit smoking whether he wants to or not… but is the cure worse than the disease? And Fletcher, an ex-reporter from the New York Times, is being held in an interrogation room in a foreign land, with only his wits to protect him.

These are the tales that make up this year’s The Blood Brothers Present… series, Nosedive Productions’ annual October horror show. James Comtois (Colorful World, The Adventures of Nervous-Boy), Qui Nguyen (Fight Girl Battle World) and Mac Rogers (Universal Robots, Hail Satan), three of New York indie theatre scene’s hottest playwrights write three new stage plays based on stories by the Master of Horror, Stephen King.
In addition to these one-acts, the evening will also present vignettes based on King’s Survivor Type, Paranoid: A Chant and The Last Waltz. The evening will be directed by Pete Boisvert and Patrick Shearer.

The Blood Brothers Present… The Master of Horror features graphic violence and is recommended for adults only.
Since its formation in 1999 by director Pete Boisvert and playwright James Comtois, Nosedive Productions has enjoyed pushing the proverbial envelope with its plays. One of the company’s original plays, The Adventures of Nervous-Boy (A Penny Dreadful), was hailed by Martin Denton as “one of the best directed and best produced indie theatre shows” of 2006 and was published in the New York Theatre Experience’s Plays and Playwrights 2007 anthology. Its 2007 play, Suburban Peepshow, has recently been published by Original Works Publishing. The company is Mr. Boisvert, Mr. Comtois, Rebecca Comtois (Artistic Associate), Patrick Shearer (Artistic Associate) and Stephanie Cox-Williams (Company Manager).

The Blood Brothers Present… will be performed at Endtimes Underground @ the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond St. between Bowery and Lafayette) October 9-11, 16-18, 23-25, 30-November 1 (Thursday through Saturday). All shows are at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $18. Subway: 6 to Bleeker; or V, D, F, B, to Broadway/Lafayette. For tickets call 212-352-3101 or visit http://www.theatermania.com.

Well, here are a few of the reviews that have come in.

“My hat is off Nosedive for coming to King with respect, energy, and most importantly, a vicious hunger for the jugular.”
-Nat Cassidy, nytheatre.com

“Full of splattering blood, dangerous psychos and true suspense laced with good humor, the production succeeds as much for being unique as for its timely seasonal run. There are all too few thrillers in the American theatre and it is a devilish delight to have one for October.”
-Michael D. Jackson, oobr.com

“THE BLOOD BROTHERS PRESENT...THE MASTER OF HORROR gets it right, by focusing on the characters and engaging talented actors to bring them to life. It's a fun evening, if you like a little gore and a few chills for your Hallowe’en.”
